La Fox quiere aprovechar la crisis para estrenar la segunda Wall Street en 2010, con Michael Douglas interpretando de nuevo a Gordon Gekko y Oliver Stone en la silla de director. Al parecer hay rumores que señalan a Javier Bardem como candidato para interpretar al villano, un gestor de Hedge Fund llamado Bretton Woods.
As we reported back in April, Fox is very anxious to get Wall Street 2 into production right away, to capitalize on our current economic situation, so that the story stays relevant. We know that Oliver Stone will return to direct, Michael Douglas will be back as Gordon Gekko, and Shia LaBeouf will join as the newcomer. But how about the villain? Nikki Finke reports that Javier Bardem has joined the cast as a hedge fund manager named Bretton Woods who LaBeouf's character thinks is responsible for some problems. One role still unannounced is that of Gekko's estranged daughter, who LaBeouf is to marry.
Será interesante ver el tratamiento que hace la película de la crisis y de los rescates públicos (la historia está ambientada en ese contexto). ¿Hará Gekko otro dicurso sobre lo virtuosa que es la codicia? Espero que sí.
