¿Es Batman como George Bush?
Andrew Klavan en el Wall Street Journal dice que el nuevo Batman es como George Bush:
There seems to me no question that the Batman film "The Dark Knight," currently breaking every box office record in history, is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war. Like W, Batman is vilified and despised for confronting terrorists in the only terms they understand. Like W, Batman sometimes has to push the boundaries of civil rights to deal with an emergency, certain that he will re-establish those boundaries when the emergency is past.
Robert Murphy en LewRockwell.com destaca tres diferencias entre Batman y Bush:
- Batman invierte su propio dinero en la lucha contra el crimen.
- Batman no envía a otros a luchar por él, arriesga su propio pellejo.
- Batman es bastante reticente a utilizar la violencia. La usa selectivamente.
En mi opinión Batman está un poco en tierra de nadie, y tiene sentido que lo reclamen para sí tanto liberales como estatistas. No es como George Bush, pero tampoco es Rothbard personificado.
